GO!

Last weekend was our 3rd Annual GO Weekend (girls only) with all the women in my family; aunts, cousins, sisters and it was a blast as always! This year we ventured to Pt. Townsend - although the only time I made it into town was for a ice/rum run.....Rum was for my first bridal shower to date, appropriately named "PuPu Panty Party" as everyone bought me panties, and it was my responsibility to guess who they were from - I was not that good at the game so luckily I didn't have any competition!

We ate, drank, laughed, and cried! Can't wait for 2011 GO Weekend in San Diego!

Cheers!

Happy 7th Birthday Andreas!!!

Today is Andreas' Birthday - but we celebrated at our house yesterday!

Andreas and his friend Jack made the cake, and ATE the cake!

Happy Birthday Buddy, I LOVE you!

Nuts!

Another Peanut Labs company meeting means another hangover, another 4 hours of sleep in 48, and another reminder of how great my company is!

Stay Classy San Diego!

Last weekend I hopped a plane for a boy's weekend in San Diego (Boys being, my brother Brandon and my cousin Curtis). My cousin, Curtis has lived in Carlsbad for the past 6 years and I figured now was as good as time as any to visit! Little did I know what I was getting myself into....  I can't remember the last time I closed a bar down, let alone two nights in a row! We managed to pack in the following in less than 36 hours: Rolling Stones cover band, dance off, hotel stay, T's Cafe's famous bloody mary's, surfing, running, a cave, lots of Bud Light, The Masters, BBQ, darts, countless new inside jokes, meat stick bloody mary's, tons of laughs, and 2 hangovers! I am obviously getting old, seeing as I came home dog tired and with a cold!

The best part was all the laughs - my cheeks and abs were sore after this weekend!

Cheers!

Make New Friends, but Definitely Keep the Old!

Yesterday I had lunch with this little munchkin and his gorgeous mama.

Danica (Mama) and I have been friends since my Freshman year in college, and though we only see each other a couple of times a year (sadly) we still cherish our relationship. She always has good advice, and she will be the first friend I call for "Mom" advice!

Cheers!

Going Rogue

I think Sarah Palin is a lot like cilantro. You either love her or hate her. I wouldn't use the word "love" to describe my fondness of Sarah Palin, but she does intrigue me. I do think that she is smart, witty, politically minded, and an overall good person. I know this because I just finished her book Going Rogue. This woman was basically unknown to everyone before the 2008 Election - I wanted to know more about her than what the press was saying; a woman that agreed to run against one of the most popular political figures of our lifetime. Who was she? Where did she come from? How did she become Alaska's Governor? I enjoyed the book, thought she made some good points, and learned a lot about a woman who set the stage for future women in higher politics. Judge me as you may for being a supporter, but this woman really has made a difference in the State of Alaska; and I think she has been unfairly ridiculed by the press.

I'm not perfect.....

I don't claim to be Julia Child, however I do usually think of myself as a pretty good cook. Baker, not so much, but I can definitely cook some really delicious stuff! However, last night as I was anticipating walking into my house after a long day of work and some hard core cardio at the gym, to be engulfed by the welcoming smell of potroast. This did not happen. Instead, my house smelled something likea mixture of garbage, fire, and poop. As I cleared my way through the smoke to the oven, I took out my beautiful Le Creuset pot to only find this:

Not delicious! The worst part about it, other than our house smelling like crap and being totally embarrassed, was that we didn't have any other food in the house! Disaster. How do I even clean this? Right now, it's still sitting on the back porch.

First Wedding Gift!

Jo Lemieux (Jacque's Mom) gave me this amazing vintage wine bottle! It's my new favorite item in my house!
Thank you! Thank you!

A Stella, a Guinness, and a lot of wine!

My dream of getting another puppy is gone. How quickly I forgot how much work they are, constantly getting into things they shouldn't, like the dirty laundry; digging holes in the grass; accidents in the house; having to get up multiple times in the night to go potty; humping everything (Stella would have none of it!). This weekend Shawn and I puppy sat for the ADORABLE Guiness (my boss's dog). Even though he was a total menice, he was more so cute and cuddly. I have mixed feelings about passing him on to another care taker today as he follows me everywhere I go and you I can't help but love him. Stella on the other hand was more excited than ever to be dropped off at the groomer today as it meant freedom for the horndog that has been invading her territory; and Shawn is pretty happy to have his bed back.

The photo above was taken after one of the many times he tried to mount Stella!

Easter Weekend

This weekend was full of baking, cooking, and family! Andreas and I baked Mascarpone Mini Cupcakes with Strawberry Glaze and Coconut Cupcakes - YUMMY! Andreas got 3 Easter Baskets, and found 24 eggs - he was still jacked up on Sugar this morning, hopefully Mrs. Brown doesn't judge us. We had Easter dinner at my Mom and Alan's house - amazing dinner as always. I hope you all had as wonderful of an Easter Weekend as we did!

Easter Weekend Kick-off

We started off Easter weekend with a bang - dying Easter Eggs. So fun! I read in a magazine that coloring brown eggs brings out more vibrant colors - I agree, our eggs turned out beautiful!

Obsession!

Orange County, New York, New Jersey - the cities are not my obsession, rather the "Real Housewives" that inhabit them. Between the fashion, the houses, the cat fights - I love it all! Last night Jacqueline came over and shared in my guilty pleasure over a couple glasses of Chardonnay. It is currently the 3rd season of the New York Real Housewives, and I do love them - they are in my favorite city, they have FABULOUS clothes, and vacation in the Hamptons, how could you not be in awe and pretend that these are your real friends for an hour once a week? It's always more fun to watch these ridiculous women with a friend so that we can talk about how crazy they all are; pick our favorties and take a team. Jacque is on team Jill. I'm siding with Betthany, but only because I am in love with Skinny Girl Margaritas.

Cheers!
